Up in the air with don Alejandro.

I am opening a new section about  activities to do while visiting Quemao Viejo, and I couldn’t think of a better beginning than a flying tour with Flying Instructor and best friend, Alejandro.

Alejandro is an experienced light-weighted plain pilot and would be spending as much time as he can up in the air . Flying has been always his dream. As a child he would spend hours chasing starts with his telescope, enchanting us with thousand stories about constellations, planets and walks in the moon. Still as a teenager, he got his first way to jump far into the air, a paraglide. I could never forget staring at him, getting lost among the clouds, like another bird, free as the wind.

After several years of training, now Alejandro is a Flying Instructor in the flying academy  “ Al Aire”, located in the Aeroclub Totana.

A training day for Alejandro could look like that:

Discussing the flight schedule with the flight controller.

Checking the weather conditions and planning of manoeuvres:

With Julio, President of the “Al Aire” school of aviation, master pilot and Alejandro’s mentor:

“WTF!! stop taking pictures NOW! and get in the plain or I am taking off without you!!” ( Too anxious to get there…)

This is Alejandro’s evil smile when he practices the “free-falling” ( I don’t know much about it, but they need to practice that, in case the engine fails. So, Alejandro cuts the plain’s motor and you experience free fall for a couple of seconds). The smile comes because he knows your genitalia are getting stuck into your skull!!

Approaching landing:

And another happy flight with don Alejandro!

This time, it was only a training session, but you can book to flight to Mazarron, where Alejandro would take you flying just above the sea shore. Quite an experience!

Gracias Ale!

Would it be posible to make some parachute while flying with Don Ale? In case it is, I might appear in a very few months, begin with a parachute jump and end up dreaming of the past experience while looking at the views from one of your vertical camping hammocks…
