20 Watts solar panel.

While the Curiosity wanders carefree in Mars’ surface, I am preparing my first “serious” camping to Quemao Viejo. So, I have bought a 20 Watts solar panel from eBay for £36,98…and here I am, posting it to the world as happy as a kid with new shoes!

I have measured the voltage in front of a British window in a cloudy August day. It gave me a reading of 13.26 Volts and 1.15 Amperes. So, if I am not getting it all wrong(Watts=Amperes*Volts), that gives us 15 Watts. Quite promising, considering it is a cloudy day.

With this solar panel, I hope to get power supply to light a couple of low-wattage bulbs for lighting, listen music, charge camera and mobile…and MAYBE use the laptop to see movies.

Curiosity, I salute you! And please, if you find any kind of fossil…do not send the photo straight away, or you are going to give us the fright of our life!!!!
